What is an internet domain?
An internet domain is a name used as an address on the internet. For example: www.mywebsite.co.za is the internet domain. The www.mywebsite is a host (server) name. The last part of the name, .co.za, identifies the domain as a commercial (.co) domain in South Africa (.za). Names with the .com extension are considered to be international commercial domains.Technically speaking, an internet domain translates an IP address (such as: 196.15.145.1) into a name that humans find much easier to understand and remember.
